Falling in Love with the Fall Season

As I anticipate the season we’re in, for myself, I find that there are many reasons to fall in love with the Fall. I’m approaching the season, with much love and gratitude, as it will mark 6 years of being a Mimi to five adorable grandchildren! I’d love to share with you a couple of activities as well as the moments that have touched my heart as we intentionally carve out some fun with them this Fall season.

After enduring 90+ days of temperatures over 100 degrees in Phoenix, and watching the summer slowly fade away, you can bet I'm ready for cooler temps and wearing my favorite jeans and sweaters! So with that, the first weekend in October, all eleven of us met up at our summer home in northeastern Arizona. My heart was in heaven! From nature walks, visiting a pumpkin patch, s’mores by the campfire, to standing on our deck watching the deer graze on our property, all made for a magical weekend together. The icing on the cake was waking at 5am on Sunday morning to our three youngest grand babies in bed with us in order to let their parents sleep in, made for a lot of special and maybe exhausting memories! Yet, for me, it was a weekend to remember! On Sunday afternoon, after everyone was piled back into their car seats, and as my husband and I sat in the quiet evening watching a beautiful fall sunset from our deck, we were already planning our next adventure with them. It was a weekend to remember.

In mid-October we have plans to attend Pumpkin Nights at the Princess! It’s a Fall festival at one of our favorite Scottsdale resorts. I’m not sure who will be more excited to visit the pumpkin patch, the haunted plaza, jack-o-lantern lawn with it’s hay maze, the Lanterns of Hope or the spooky fireworks, the kids or Mimi and Papa? Either way, we know we’ll be back for our annual visit during Christmas at the Princess in December.

Lastly, we’ll wrap up our October with baking our favorite Fall foods and a little trick or treating! If you missed my last post on our family’s most requested fall appetizer you can find it here as well as Gigi Susie’s delicious pumpkin bread recipe that her mom made every year! I can’t wait to bake her recipe for our grandchildren. Because what could be better than pumpkin bread at Mimi’s, reading them a fun Halloween story while having a Fall blend diffusing. I’ll share the essential oil Fall blend I’m so in love with this season, it’s called:

Campfire Donuts

  • 5 drops of Stress Away,

  • 4 drops of Christmas Spirit,

  • 3 drops of Thieves

  • 2 drops of Clove.

I promise, you’ll love it too!

These are the memories we dreamed of making not only with our two children but our grandchildren as well. So as I sit and make my Fall Bucket List next year, as a Mimi, I’ll continue to search for simple and fun ways for our family to fall in love with the Fall season together again and I'll remember how blessed I am as I cherish this grand season of life!

My heart is full.

Hugs,

Mimi Jackie
