Traveling and being outdoors with my grandchildren during the summer months means I need to do what I can to protect their delicate skin with the appropriate sunscreen so they can enjoy being kids!! My go to since they were little has been Babyganics SPF 50 mineral sunscreen. It is made without PABA, phthalates, parabens, broad spectrum and dermatologist tested.

Summer heat can get to us all so I like to use this neck wrap to keep the grandkids cool. It comes in a variety of styles and colors, easy and reusable for all day cooling and is made in the USA. No more packing ice to cool down. Simply soak this wrap for 20 minutes and enjoy fresh reusable cooling relief from the heat that lasts all day long. Get one for your grandchild and one for you - this is great while watching their summer sports.

Enjoy being outdoors with your sweet families!

We all love to enjoy the long beautiful days of summer with our children and grandchildren. The day trips and weekend road trips we have planned will be so much easier when you bring this foldable travel potty seat along with you! It’s perfect for toddlers and kids (up to 60lbs). I’ve actually purchased two of them. The first one I purchased 7 years ago when our oldest grandson was beginning to use the big boy potty. It’s still in perfect condition and his two younger brothers use it now. The second one I purchased is a pink one for our 2 yr old granddaughter. I always keep the seat packed to take with us so that when one or more of the grandkids have to go potty in a public restroom, we’re good to go! It will easily fit into your purse or tote bag. The kids always feel more comfortable sitting on this smaller seat, which stays in place and is just the right size for them. This little gem is so cute with the owl design on it, which the kids love and Mimi loves the black drawstring washable bag it comes with for storing. In the drawstring bag, I include disinfectant wipes, a spare pair of undies and pants, and flushable baby wipes. Keeping everything stored in one place makes it so convenient when we’re on the go!

I’m so thankful I found this seat on Amazon as I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it, the grandkids are a lot more comfortable using public restrooms now and I can’t recommend it enough to everyone with little ones. It fits on any seat and is lightweight. The seat can be found at this link on Amazon. On a side note, here’s a little pro tip: place a Post It note to cover the automatic flusher sensor, it works great at preventing the toilet from flushing automatically which most kids don’t like. Do yourself and your grandchildren a favor, and don’t hesitate to purchase one.

After all, the goal is always that you and your children should enjoy every moment seeing the world while creating a lifetime of memories with you along the way. Enjoy your summer on-the-go with your precious children and grandchildren!

One of the biggest challenges traveling with preteens is trying to limit their time on devices.

It is important to have some alternate activities to entertain them and keep the peace. My grandson, Miles, has taken to the game of Connect 4. He loves to take it in the car, to a restaurant or anywhere he thinks he can find someone brave enough to take him on. He has mastered this craft and loves to show his stuff. This game of strategy is fun for all ages and you can take it almost anywhere.

Another fun activity is a book called Would You Rather. It is a great way to get a conversation started and learn new things about each other. This is a great family activity that will provide a nice break from using devices while helping to initiate some quality family time while traveling.

On the road or on the plane, if you have ever traveled with a toddler, you know how hard it is to entertain them while they're strapped into the car seat. Many parents (and grandparents) will reluctantly allow the kids to use a tablet to watch shows and movies, but even that can get old after a while. That's why this car-seat organizer tray is so helpful. It has compartments for markers, toys, and cups plus a tablet holder and tray for coloring activities or snacks. When you're done, it folds up flat and has a carrying shoulder strap.

I found this on Amazon for $30 (also comes in pink and blue) and I can't wait to try it on an upcoming road trip with my three year old granddaughter. Now if we could just find something to entertain the four month old, we'll be all set!

Safe travels!
