Good morning friends. Who’s ready for the 4th? It’s hard to believe in just four days we’ll be celebrating the 4th of July. I often find myself going to look at my calendar to remind myself what day of the week it is simply because the days seem to all run together. Is it just me, or do you find it easy to lose track of time during this pandemic as well? As I mentioned, four days from now, just as we did for Easter, Mother’s Day, Fathers Day and Memorial Day, we’ll be celebrating at home with our group of 10 this 4th of July. If you missed Gigi Susie’s post last Friday, you can read it HERE. She has some great ideas for celebrating the 4th at home!
Living in hot and sunny Arizona, my first thought is what drinks and snacks can we enjoy that are refreshing and festive! One of our favorites, that I make every year for the adults is Red, White & Blue Sangria. It’s so simple to make and you can find the recipe here!! Another favorite and easy to make snack are these strawberries filled with cream cheese and topped with a blueberry and these patriotic popsicle. The popsicles are made with real fruit and just 4 ingredient! How easy is that? I linked the exact popsicle maker I use here. Be sure to make plenty, I’m not sure who loves them more the grandkids or their parents.
For the kiddos, I always make their favorite Red, White & Blue Lemonade, the recipe can be found here, and as for the food, well, the grandkids always want the usual hot dogs, hamburgers and let’s not forget the fireworks, oh my!
What are your plans this year for the 4th of July? Feel free to share your favorite festive drinks or snacks with us in the comments below!!
Stay safe, be well and Happy 4th of July!!
